Calgary authorities are looking into a car crash that occurred on Friday evening, leading to the tragic death of a man in his twenties. According to a statement released on Saturday, the incident involved a 2005 Pontiac Grand Am traveling south on Tsuut’ina Trail S.W. near 90th Avenue S.W. The vehicle veered off the road and collided with the concrete base of a sign pole at approximately 8 p.m. that night.
Emergency responders extricated the man from the car and rushed him to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle at the time of the accident. This marks the 18th fatal collision in Calgary this year, resulting in a total of 22 deaths from such incidents.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the crash. They have stated that neither speeding nor impairment are believed to have played a role in the tragic event.
